Josh initially joined Amba when he was 15 as part of a work experience programme from school. He worked on the shop floor experiencing how a busy manufacturing environment operates. He returned to his studies for several years but decided to join Amba at the age of 22 when an opportunity arose in the Sales Engineering department.
Josh joined Amba 5 years ago and has quickly settled into the team learning office procedures. He has already established himself with some of our customers providing quotations and processing orders.
Bonjour! Despite sailing all night, Josh found himself right back in Portsmouth.
Josh recently ventured out on his first unaccompanied delivery of parts to France. He boarded the overnight ferry in Portsmouth, retired to his cabin and slept soundly. He was awoken early morning by the announcement to return to the vehicles. Unknown to Josh, the ferry had suffered an engine failure during the night and had to return to Portsmouth. Josh drove off the ferry assuming he was in Le Havre and started using his very basic French language skills on the bewildered port staff. He was taken aback at how much the port was like Portsmouth — there was a lot of head scratching when he parked in front of a sign welcoming him to Portsmouth. He then had to phone his boss in the early hours of the morning to explain that, despite sailing all night, he was still in Portsmouth. Needless to say he gets some ribbing for it in the office and is often greeted with a Bonjour as he walks in.
